The Playback View in eCapture Pro allows users to review and analyze recorded data generated by pipeline executions. A pipeline in eCapture Pro refers to the workflow for acquiring, processing, and saving image data from cameras. Each pipeline execution generates a take, which is a complete record of the pipeline run, including details such as the recording format, frame rate, and camera settings. This structured approach ensures that captured data is recorded consistently and efficiently, enabling streamlined review during playback.
The Playback View is divided into two sections:
Recordings Panel: Displays the list of available recordings and manages their selection.
Recording View Panel: Plays back the selected recording and provides playback controls for navigation and analysis.

Review Takes: Access and replay recorded pipeline runs (takes) to verify capture quality and ensure data integrity.
Analyze Data: Evaluate frame content, camera performance, and pipeline execution by using playback modes and controls.
Organize Recordings: Quickly access takes grouped under specific projects for streamlined review workflows.
Support Common Formats: Replay recordings in supported formats, such as raw data. Note that NVENC-encoded recordings are not supported.
Recordings Panel
The Recordings Panel, located on the left, lists all available takes grouped by project.
Toolbar: Includes tools to:
Toggle visibility of recordings for specific projects.
Expand or collapse the list of takes for easier navigation.
Users can select takes by clicking on them, automatically loading them in the Recording View Panel.
Recording View Panel
The Recording View Panel, located on the right, plays back the selected take and provides playback controls for detailed analysis.
Playback Modes
The Playback View supports two playback modes:
Video Mode: Plays back a take from a single camera.
Recording Mode: Rotates through all recordings that were part of the pipeline run, displaying the same frame across recordings.
Users can switch between modes during playback. For instance, they can pause video mode at a specific frame, switch to camera mode, and navigate through all cameras for that frame.
Playback Controls
Standard Controls:
Play/pause and seek one frame forward/backward.
Adjust playback speed:
In video mode, speed can be set as a fraction of the recording speed.
In recording mode, the time each frame is displayed for a recording can be configured.
Reverse playback direction using the arrow button.
Enable looping to restart playback automatically from the beginning after reaching the end.
Timeline Toolbar:
Displays a timeline slider for navigating to specific points in the take.
Visually tracks progress within the playback session.
Display Settings
Users can configure playback resolution and frame rate, which may differ from the original recording settings.
Note: Changing display resolution or frame rate will deselect the currently playing take, requiring users to reselect it to resume playback.
How the Playback View Panels Work Together
The Recordings Panel organizes and selects takes, ensuring users can quickly find and load the desired data. The Recording View Panel enables detailed playback and analysis, with intuitive controls for navigation, mode switching, and speed adjustment. Together, these panels provide a comprehensive interface for reviewing and verifying recorded pipeline runs efficiently, whether analyzing individual camera streams or comparing frames across multiple cameras. Additionally, the Playback View supports raw recordings for broad compatibility, while NVENC-encoded recordings are not supported.
