UART Enable

The UART enable feature enables and disables universal asynchronous receiver-transmitter (UART) mode.

Many customers use the UART functionality to control devices such as an Emergent EF lens mount.

To configure a camera to transmit UART data on a GPIO output pin, use the GPO n Mode feature to set the output pin to Test Gen UART TXD mode.

To configure a camera to receive UART data on a GPIO input pin, use the GPI n Mode feature to set the input pin to Test Gen UART RXD mode.

If you enable UART, you should also use the following UART features:

UartEnable node

  • Access mode: Read/Write
  • Node type: Boolean

You can use the eSDK API functions to get and set the node’s current value.
