Image Format Control Features and Nodes

Image format control features in high-speed cameras from Emergent Vision Technologies are essential for customizing capture settings to meet specific needs. These features allow precise manipulation of image dimensions and quality, enhancing the camera's utility in dynamic, detail-oriented environments.

Image format features provide extensive control over how images are captured and processed, enabling adjustments to width, height, pixel depth, and orientation. This flexibility ensures that images are optimized for quality and relevancy, tailored to different analysis or monitoring requirements. Meanwhile, lens features enhance image clarity through precise iris and focus adjustments, accommodating varying lighting conditions and maintaining sharpness. Such optical controls, including adjustments based on lens characteristics like focal length, are crucial for capturing clear, detailed images in diverse operational settings.

You can use the features with Emergent's eCapture Pro application. Alternatively, you can use the features with Emergent's eSDK API and the feature nodes. The \EVT\eSDK\Examples\EVT_ImageFormatControl directory contains example code that demonstrates how to programmatically use the device information features.

Note: Each Emergent camera provides some or all of the following features and nodes, depending on the camera model.

Image Format Features

The image format features let you manipulate how and what the camera captures, ensuring optimal image quality and appropriate data capture for analysis or monitoring purposes. Adjustments to the image's width, height, and pixel quality, along with the ability to alter orientation and embed valuable metadata, provide the flexibility needed in fast-paced, detail-oriented environments.
