GPI n Polarity

The GPI n polarity feature reads the polarity of the camera’s general-purpose input (GPI) pins, where "n" indicates a specific pin number. Knowing the polarity lets the camera correctly interpret the input voltages, distinguishing active signals from inactive ones, which is essential for interfacing correctly with external devices or systems.

The polarity affects the meaning of the pin's input voltages as follows:

  • 1 or True: A high voltage indicates an active (event) state and a low voltage an inactive state.
  • 0 or False: A low voltage indicates an active (event) state and a high voltage an inactive state.

See also GPI n mode.
